LEAD PASTOR ANNOUNCEMENT
Greetings First Methodist Church,
The Staff Parish Relations Committee and the Cabinet of the North Carolina Global Methodist Church have prayerfully discerned that Reverend Earl Bradshaw will be appointed as the new Lead Pastor of our church. Pastor Earl and his wife, Kim, come to us from Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant, NC (near Charlotte). He has served there for seven years and has been in the ministry for 31 years.
He is a native of western Virginia and is a graduate of Hood Theological Seminary in Salisbury, NC. He serves on the Cabinet of NC Global Methodist Church and has recently completed a term on the executive committee. Through his services in these capacities, Pastor Earl learned of the opening at our church. He said he felt a call from God to apply for this position.
Pastor Earl said he loves all people, but especially children and older people. He is strong on evangelism. He is community oriented. He grows churches and believes in working collaboratively with the staff. Pastor Earl and Kim are buying a house and moving to Morehead in late June. His first Sunday with us will be July 5th. We look forward to welcoming them and to his ministry and leadership.
The congregation of First Methodist continues to be very grateful to Pastor Sarah and the staff for all they have done over the past year to lead the ministry and missions of this very active church. They have been the glue that has kept it all moving forward. We all need to let them know of our appreciation. The staff and Pastor Earl will make a great team, and we have much to be excited about in the coming years.
